NEW YORK, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — At a time when many young Americans feel uncertain about the future, the U.S. Army has launched “Field Tested” — a new marketing campaign that centers on the Army’s unique training environments where Soldiers build the hands-on experience and proven skills needed to take on any challenge that lies ahead.
“Field Tested” immerses audiences into the field, the Army’s unmatched, real-world training environment where Soldiers learn by doing. The campaign shows how these experiences help Soldiers solve complex problems, lead under pressure, and rely on one another to overcome challenges, from braving harsh weather elements to troubleshooting equipment malfunction
“Field Tested” also highlights the Army’s modernization, showing evolving careers and capabilities, from drone operations and geospatial analysis to coding and intelligence.
The campaign’s three films follow real Army Soldiers from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Polk, La., operating in authentic training environments that develop Soldiers into strong communicators, sharp problem solvers, and unfailing teammates:
- “The Field is the Teacher” follows Soldiers building real-world skills using drones, mapping technology, coding, and problem-solving in the field. The experience gained here prepares them to lead and operate under pressure wherever they go next.
- “The Field Takes a Team” follows Soldiers coordinating across roles, relying on each other in the field, and building bonds that last beyond the mission. Working together, they learn to communicate, support one another, and move as one team.
- “The Field Makes Us Stronger” follows Soldiers being tested by the terrain, cold, heat, night, and every obstacle the field puts in front of them. Each challenge builds the strength to handle whatever lies ahead.
As part of the campaign, Staff Sgt. Kenneth Garcia, an Infantryman and Scout Team Leader, recently shared his Army experience and what it means to truly be “Field Tested.”
Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., Garcia joined the Army through the Buddy Enlistment Program with his cousin, who he continues to serve with today. Garcia joined seeking guidance, stability and a path forward. In fewer than five years, he has risen through the ranks, earned his Expert Infantryman Badge and completed three prestigious Army schools: Air Assault, Airborne and Mountain Warfare. Garcia is featured prominently in the “Field Tested” campaign, demonstrating the real-world training and hands-on experiences Soldiers gain through service.
During the media tour, Staff Sgt. Garcia discussed:
- What “Field Tested” means and why the campaign is especially relevant at a time when many young Americans feel uncertain about the future.
- The importance of field training as a part of Army life and how his own experiences in the field have helped prepare him for challenges.
- His pathway to Army service, including joining through the Buddy Enlistment Program with his cousin, and how the Army provided the guidance, stability and path forward he was seeking.
- How Army training has prepared him for life in and out of uniform by developing problem-solving and leadership skills, learning how to operate under pressure and work as part of a team.
- The skills and experiences Soldiers gain through service and how those lessons can help prepare them for whatever comes next.
