OpenDialog’s Selma live across all 53 Private Car schemes, 14 weeks after kickoff
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, October 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Sterling Insurance Services, part of Adrian Flux Group, is now converting 40% more car insurance quotes into policies after deploying Selma, the AI sales agent from OpenDialog AI.
Customers are also buying more add-ons, up 9.3%, and Sterling has extended Selma from Private Car to its Short Term Car product.
Most online insurance quotes never become policies. Between 70 and 90% of quote journeys are abandoned, often at the point where the customer has a price and a question nobody is there to answer. Selma is built to close that gap. It spots when a customer is about to leave, steps in, and answers from their own quote and policy wording.
Sterling went live in 14 weeks, starting with two learner driver schemes, and now runs Selma on every Private Car quote across 53 schemes, with no compliance or regulatory issues. The group had already seen results from OpenDialog at its Bikesure brand.
Andy Morton, Managing Director, Sterling Insurance Services, said: “Every customer who leaves at the quote stage is one we’ve already paid to win. Selma is bringing a lot more of them over the line, and doing it in a way that stays accurate to each scheme. That’s why we put it on every Private Car quote, and why it’s already on our next product.”
Naomi Prosser, VP Customer Success, OpenDialog AI, said: “The industry spends a fortune getting people to a price and then loses most of them in the last few clicks. Sterling has shown that doesn’t have to happen. When an AI agent understands the product and the customer well enough to step in at the right moment, 40% more quotes become policies. That changes the economics of insurance distribution.”
