Wilmington, NC, October 5, 2026 — Paws 4 Purpose Animal Rescue has initiated an online fundraising effort titled “Fix the Felines,” aimed at generating support for essential spay and neuter programs targeting cats within Pender and Onslow counties. The initiative takes the form of an online gift basket raffle, providing participants an opportunity to contribute to animal welfare while potentially winning prizes.

The organization stated that proceeds from the “Fix the Felines” raffle are specifically earmarked to fund spay and neuter surgeries for cats in the designated regions. These procedures are widely recognized as critical components in controlling pet overpopulation, reducing the number of homeless animals, and improving the overall health and well-being of feline populations.

The raffle is currently underway and is scheduled to conclude on Friday, October 9. Following the conclusion of ticket sales, the drawing for the gift baskets will take place on Saturday, October 10. The location for the drawing has been set for Holly Ridge, North Carolina.

Information regarding the specific types of gift baskets available as prizes, the cost of raffle tickets, or the exact mechanism for purchasing tickets was not detailed in the summary. Additionally, the specific goals for funds to be raised through this raffle were not provided.

Paws 4 Purpose Animal Rescue has not released details regarding how individuals can participate in the raffle beyond the stated end and drawing dates.
